FAQs
Who are your typical clients?
Most of our clients are white collar professionals. Unlike many financial advisers we don’t focus on people who have a large sum of assets. The most valuable asset our typical clients have is their education and career. Our expertise helps them to leverage that hard earned career success into greater financial security and freedom.
What is your process
Please see here for an overview
How much do you charge?
Our initial meeting is at no charge to you, after which we provide a fixed price quote for our services.
Most of our engagements fall in the range of $1,000 – $9,000. The exact price depends on scope and complexity of your requirements. Most clients quickly see a financial benefit far greater than the cost of our service due to a combination of improved investments, reduced interest charges, tax savings, and reduced product costs.
We do not charge any additional adviser fees based on a % of your assets.
Do you provide ongoing service?
Absolutely. Your personal and financial circumstances will change over time, as will the economic and legislative environment, and financial products. It is important that your financial arrangements stay up to date with these changes.
Our ongoing service generally involves a review once per year, regular information updates on financial planning topics, availability to answer your questions where needed between meetings, plus proactive contact from us if something significant happens requiring your attention. Ongoing service is optional and can be cancelled at any time if you no longer feel the need for it.
Which financial products do you recommend to clients?
Our recommendations are drawn from a wide range of products and structures including direct shares, boutique managed funds, index funds, bonds, low cost super, SMSFs, wrap accounts, and trusts.
We are not limited to any particular brand or style, although obviously we have our preferences based on what works best for different client situations.
ICT Wealth does not use any “inhouse” products as we find most clients prefer to deal with an adviser who does not have that potential conflict of interest.
Product recommendations are based on our own research, as well as expert independent research we subscribe to.
What are your licensing arrangements?
David Scott is an Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) registered financial adviser (Representative No. 340141) and mortgage broker (Representative No. 481631) employed by ICT Wealth, which is an ASIC licensed financial advisory and mortgage broking firm (Australian Financial Services Licence and Australian Credit Licence No. 509519). These details can be independently verified via the ASIC website, and we encourage you to do so before engaging us.
How is my privacy protected?
Your privacy is something we take very seriously. For full details of our Privacy Policy please view here.
What does the “ICT” stand for in “ICT Wealth”?
Our name reflects the original focus we had on people who work in information & communications technology (ICT). ICT Wealth started out providing financial planning services for an ICT industry association. Although we have broadened our scope over time, most of our clients still work in ICT and we have a great understanding of the job roles, employment models, and typical financial arrangements of people in that sector.
Where are you located?
Our office is in Sydney CBD not far from Wynyard Station and Circular Quay. We are also happy to make mobile visits within 10km of our office if you can arrange a quiet, private meeting place.
